Meet Natalie

I have 20 years’ experience working as a Clinical Psychologist in private practice settings. My work has taken me to inner-city and regional locations, working with a variety of people of all ages, stages of life, cultures and diverse life experiences. Brighter Days Psychology was developed 8 years ago in response to my desire to meld the application of clinical skills with the warmth of genuine connection and care for my clients.

Brighter Days is grounded in the idea that change and transition are our best opportunity for growth and empowerment. While therapy often involves dealing with the darkness of life’s events and resulting impacts, I believe the process should always be balanced with light. My approach in therapy aims to bring that brightness from creating an atmosphere of warmth and compassion, with genuine connection and good humour.

The processes of change are important for the development of strength, resilience and optimism, but that’s not to gloss over the fact that these processes are often difficult and demanding. Brighter Days serves to provide the support for people to overcome the challenges and develop the skills to help create the clarity needed to manage new beginnings and build a brighter future.

“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new”

Meet Mabel

While desperately committed to the idea of being a therapy dog, Mabel’s boundless enthusiasm for loving humans often fits better with brief pat-infused visits before and after sessions.

Mabel is a Shetland Sheepdog, a breed of dog often referred to as a “mini-Lassie”. She is deeply loyal and loving to her family, which she has decided includes all the clients who visit for therapy. While not everyone will be keen to say hello, Mabel will always be at the ready for a visit as she continues to try to achieve a full-time position in the therapy room.
